Soul Retrieval

5 ElementsAncient Bön Practices to Restore and Heal
A Three Retreat training program at Chamma Ling
Part 2: May 3 - 7, 2018

The soul is composed of of the five elements of earth, water, fire, air and space as these elements pervade all of life and are the essential components of our entire worldly existence. The Shamanic rites of soul retrieval (la lu) and life force retrieval (tse lu) are methods of calling on the essence of the the elements - elemental spirits- to balance and heal the individual.

It is believed that a traumatic event or other shock can cause an individual to loose connection with the elements and become dispirited.

Life force is the presence of energetic forces within one's self. It is possible to retrieve the soul and life force through the use of mind and symbols in ritual. Through ritual and meditational practice, one can bring back the positive qualities that are missing or reinforce qualities that are weakened in oneself or others.

In this series of teaching retreats we will learn the ancient Bön methods of divination, meditation, and ritual of Soul Retrieval as Geshe Denma Gyaltsen teaches these methods in 3 separate retreats at Chamma Ling.

RETREAT CANCELED

Unfortunately Geshe Kunchap was called back to Nepal on urgent business and had to cancel his teaching. We hope to offer it in the future.

Geshe Nyima Kunchap Rinpoche will be visiting Crestone from Dolpo, Nepal, land of ancient Zhang Zhung and Bön, continuing our series of teachings of the Red Garuda. The archetype of the person who rises above all obstacles and obscurations, transforms themselves into an eagle and soars through the sky is found in many cultures throughout the world.

The Red Garuda is an enlightened wrathful yidam and path to enlightenment. In this retreat we will explore the practices of the Red Garuda that remove all inner and outer obstacles. All of us face many obstacles in our lives, with our physical health, work, family, circumstances, energetic blocks, and obstacles that we impose upon ourselves. All of these obstacles cause harm to body, mind and soul, and can slow or block our spiritual development. Geshe Kunchap will teach a powerful wrathful ritual that will dissolve all these obstacles, both within ourselves and within others, so that we may benefit all sentient beings.
